Operation Christmas Child is one of the ministries of Samaritan’s Purse.  Shoeboxes that are filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items are given to children throughout the world, along with an introduction to Jesus.  Per Franklin Graham, President, Samaritan’s Purse, “Every box is an opportunity to reach a child with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”  As each child learns of Jesus, they share Him with their family and friends.  Therefore, one box can be many Gospel opportunities. 

At FBC Atmore, we contribute funds and items to a churchwide drive of shoeboxes along with our Wednesday Night Kids ministry.  Funds are accepted all year long (by designating to “shoeboxes”) to cover items and the $10 suggested donation per box that covers collection, processing, church training, shipping, and most importantly a book about Jesus to each child in their own language.

We also encourage individuals and families to fill their own shoeboxes.  This is a great way to serve God and to grow deeper in Him.  Information is available regarding what can and can’t be included in boxes.
